Master Official Sweepstakes & Promotion Rules
Important Notice: Apple Inc. and Google LLC are NOT sponsors of, nor are they involved in any way with, the sweepstakes, leaderboards, or contests hosted within the Redeema platform.
1. PROMOTION DESCRIPTION & SPONSORSHIP
Redeema (the "Platform") provides the technical infrastructure for various promotions. Each individual campaign is sponsored by the specific Organization or Business entity identified in the campaign details (the "Sponsor").
Redeema’s Role: Redeema is solely the technology provider and administrator of the platform. Redeema is NOT the sponsor of any campaign unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Binding Agreement: By participating, you agree to these Master Rules, any "Particular Rules" established for a specific campaign, the Redeema Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), and our Privacy Policy. Any violation of the AUP, including receipt fraud or system manipulation, will result in immediate disqualification.
No Gambling Policy: Redeema is a strictly non-gambling platform. Tickets or Points issued within the Platform are virtual participation units with no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for currency or any item of value outside of the specific Promotion.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Unless otherwise specified in a campaign’s Particular Rules:
Geography: Open only to legal residents of Puerto Rico and the United States. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Age: Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
Exclusions: Employees of the Sponsor, their affiliates, and Redeema LLC are not eligible to win.
RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS: Participation is open to legal residents of Puerto Rico and the United States. However, for any Promotion where the total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes exceeds $5,000, legal residents of New York and Florida are strictly excluded from participation and are ineligible to win. Any entry received from a resident of these states in a high-value Promotion will be void.
3. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY (NPN) – THE "AMOE" RULE
In strict compliance with DACO and U.S. Federal laws, no purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is required to enter or win.
Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE): To enter without making a purchase or donation, hand-print your full name, Redeema account email, and the specific Campaign Name on a 3x5 card and mail it to the address provided in the Campaign’s "Legal" section.
Equal Opportunity: Each valid mail-in entry will be awarded the same number of tickets as the highest available "donation tier" or "activity value" (e.g., if a $20 donation grants 30 tickets, a mail-in entry grants 30 tickets).
4. ENTRY METHODS & VALIDATION
Organization Campaigns: Entries are earned through donations or the NPN method.
Business Campaigns: Entries are earned via Global Scan (OCR), Surveys, or Social Sharing.
Receipt Integrity: Receipts must be original, legible, and from a purchase made within the campaign period. Redeema reserves the right to disqualify any receipt that is altered, fraudulent, or has already been submitted.
Terminological Distinction: In random-selection campaigns (Sweepstakes), participants earn 'Tickets'. In ranking-based campaigns (Leaderboards), participants earn 'Points' or 'Credits'. Leaderboards are 'Games of Skill/Participation' determined by objective accumulated metrics, not by random drawings.
5. WINNER SELECTION & INTEGRITY
Deterministic Selection: For random sweepstakes, Redeema uses a proprietary, deterministic algorithm based on pre-defined ticket ranges.
Tamper-Evident Audit: All participation events are recorded in an append-only, Hash-Chained audit log. This ensures that the selection process is fair, transparent, and legally defensible against retrospective alteration.
6. PRIZES & TAXATION
Responsibility: The Sponsor is solely responsible for prize procurement and delivery. Redeema assumes no liability for prize defects or failure to deliver.
Claim Period: Winners must claim prizes within the timeframe specified by the Sponsor or forfeit the prize.
Taxes: Winners are responsible for any applicable local or federal taxes.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Redeema LLC and its officers shall not be liable for:
Technical failures of the OCR system or AWS infrastructure.
Disputes between a participant and a Sponsor regarding prize quality.
Decisions made by the Sponsor regarding eligibility or winner disqualification.
8. DISPUTES & ARBITRATION
All disputes arising from these rules shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
9. SPONSOR OBLIGATIONS & COMPLIANCE
As the platform provider, Redeema requires all Sponsors to adhere to the following:
High-Value Promotions ($5,000+): If a Sponsor elects to launch a Promotion where the total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes exceeds $5,000, and the Sponsor wishes to include residents of New York or Florida, the Sponsor is solely responsible for:
Filing all required registrations and obtaining necessary surety bonds with the appropriate state agencies (e.g., NY Department of State or FL Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the Promotion.
Providing Redeema with written proof of such filings and bonds upon request.
Automatic Exclusion: In the absence of confirmed state registration and bonding for high-value prizes, Redeema will automatically exclude residents of New York and Florida from the Promotion to ensure regulatory compliance.
Prize Fulfillment: The Sponsor is exclusively liable for the procurement, legal registration (where applicable), and delivery of all prizes.
Tax Reporting: For any prize valued at $600 or more, the Sponsor is responsible for collecting a Form W-9 from the winner and issuing a Form 1099-MISC as required by the IRS.
