Master Official Sweepstakes & Promotion Rules
Effective Date: May 1, 2025
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Apple Inc. and Google LLC are NOT sponsors of, nor are they involved in any way with, the sweepstakes, leaderboards, or contests hosted within the Redeema platform.
1. Promotion Description & Sponsorship
- Redeema's Role: Redeema, LLC ("Redeema") is solely the technology provider and administrator of the Platform. Redeema is NOT the sponsor of any Campaign unless explicitly stated otherwise in the Campaign details.
- Campaign Sponsor: Each individual Campaign is sponsored by the specific Organization or Business entity identified in the Campaign details (the "Sponsor"). The Sponsor is solely responsible for prize procurement, delivery, and all legal obligations related to the Campaign.
- Binding Agreement: By participating, you agree to these Master Official Rules, any "Particular Rules" established for a specific Campaign, the Redeema Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. Any violation of Redeema's Acceptable Use Policy β including receipt fraud, duplicate submissions, or system manipulation β will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of all entries and prizes.
- No Gambling Policy: Redeema is a strictly non-gambling platform. Tickets or Points issued within the Platform are virtual participation units with no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for currency or any item of value outside of the specific Promotion.
2. Eligibility
Unless otherwise specified in a Campaign's Particular Rules:
- Geography: Open only to legal residents of Puerto Rico and the United States who are physically located within the applicable jurisdiction at the time of entry. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
- Canada: Certain Campaigns may be open to legal residents of Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec, where sweepstakes are prohibited by law). Canadian winners may be required to correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question as a condition of receiving a prize, as required by Canadian law.
- Age: Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry (19 in Alabama and Nebraska; 21 in Mississippi), or the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction. Participation by individuals who do not meet the applicable age requirement is null and void.
- Exclusions: Employees, officers, directors, and agents of the Sponsor, Redeema, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses) and household members of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win.
- High-Value Prize Restriction: For any Promotion where the total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes exceeds $5,000, legal residents of New York and Florida are excluded from participation and are ineligible to win, unless the Sponsor has completed the required state registration and surety bonding prior to the Campaign launch date. Any entry received from an ineligible state in a high-value Promotion will be void.
3. No Purchase Necessary (NPN) β The AMOE Rule
In strict compliance with DACO and U.S. Federal law, no purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is required to enter or win. Making a purchase does not increase your odds of winning.
- Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE): To enter without making a purchase or donation, hand-print your full legal name, Redeema account email address, and the specific Campaign Name on a 3Γ5 index card and mail it to the address provided in the Campaign's "Legal" section. One AMOE entry per person per Campaign. Mechanically reproduced entries are not accepted.
- Equal Opportunity: Each valid mail-in AMOE entry will be awarded the same number of tickets as the standard paid entry level for that Campaign, ensuring equal opportunity to win regardless of entry method.
- Drawing Date Requirement: The drawing date must be a minimum of three (3) business days after the Campaign entry period closes to allow sufficient time to process all AMOE entries and ensure equal participation.
4. Entry Methods & Validation
- Organization Campaigns: Entries are earned through donations or the NPN/AMOE method described in Section 3.
- Business Campaigns: Entries are earned via Global Scan (OCR receipt validation), Surveys (limited to one per user per Campaign), or Social Sharing (limited to one per user per Campaign).
- Receipt Integrity: Receipts submitted via Global Scan must be original, legible, and from a personal purchase made within the Campaign period. Each receipt may only be submitted once. Receipts that are altered, fraudulent, duplicated, found in public spaces, or purchased from third parties are strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account ban and forfeiture of all entries and prizes.
- Approximate Retail Value (ARV): The Sponsor is required to disclose the Approximate Retail Value of each prize offered in a Campaign. ARV is determined based on the retail purchase price or fair market value of the prize at the time of Campaign launch. Actual prize value may vary. No cash equivalent will be awarded in lieu of the stated prize except at Redeema's sole discretion.
- Tickets vs. Points: In random-selection campaigns (Sweepstakes), participants earn "Tickets." In ranking-based campaigns (Leaderboards), participants earn "Points" or "Credits." Leaderboards are Games of Skill/Participation determined by objective accumulated metrics, not random drawings, and are governed by separate Leaderboard rules.
5. Winner Selection & Integrity
- Certified Randomization: For random sweepstakes, winners are selected using Redeema's proprietary certified randomization algorithm applied to pre-assigned, sequential ticket ranges recorded in the Audit Chain. Odds of winning depend on the total number of valid tickets held at the time of the drawing.
- Tamper-Evident Audit: All participation events, ticket assignments, and winner selections are recorded in Redeema's append-only, SHA-256 Hash-Chained audit log. Records are immutable once created. This ensures that the selection process is fair, transparent, and legally defensible against retrospective alteration. The Audit Chain is the sole authoritative record of all Campaign events.
- Alternate Winners: At the time of each drawing, Redeema selects one (1) primary winner and up to three (3) alternate winners per prize, in sequential order, using the same certified randomization process. All selected winners β primary and alternates β are drawn simultaneously from the Audit Chain. If a primary winner is found to be ineligible, cannot be contacted within seven (7) business days of notification, or fails to claim the prize within thirty (30) days of the initial winner notification, the prize will be awarded to the first eligible alternate winner, then the second, then the third, in that order. No additional drawings will be conducted once all alternates are exhausted.
- Winner Notification: Winners are notified via the email address associated with their Redeema account. It is the participant's responsibility to maintain a current, valid email address. Redeema and the Sponsor are not responsible for notifications that are undeliverable due to invalid contact information.
- Disqualification: Redeema and the Sponsor reserve the right to disqualify any entrant found to be tampering with the entry process, operating multiple accounts, submitting fraudulent receipts, or acting in violation of these Rules. All entries associated with a disqualified account will be void.
6. Prizes & Taxation
- Sponsor Responsibility: The Sponsor is solely responsible for prize procurement, insurance, delivery, and quality. Redeema assumes no liability for prize defects, delays in delivery, or failure to deliver.
- Prize Claim Period: Winners must claim their prize within thirty (30) days of the initial winner notification, unless otherwise specified in the Campaign's Particular Rules. Failure to claim within this period results in forfeiture and the prize will be awarded to the next eligible alternate winner.
- Winner Documentation: Prior to prize delivery, winners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and where legally permissible, a Publicity Release. Failure to return completed documentation within the required timeframe may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture.
- Age-Restricted Prizes: For prizes that contain alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or other age-restricted items, winners must provide proof of legal age at the time of prize claim. The Sponsor is responsible for verifying eligibility before delivering any age-restricted prize.
- Taxes: All federal, state, local, and Puerto Rico taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. For any prize with a fair market value of $600 or more, the Sponsor is required to collect a completed IRS Form W-9 from the winner and issue IRS Form 1099-MISC as required by federal law. Redeema does not collect or store Social Security Numbers or Tax Identification Numbers.
- No Substitution: No prize substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent is permitted by the winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the stated prize becomes unavailable.
7. Winners List
- Public Record: To obtain the name of the winner(s) for any Campaign, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Redeema, LLC, c/o Winners List, [Redeema Mailing Address], CanΓ³vanas, Puerto Rico. Requests must be received no later than thirty (30) days after the Campaign end date and must include the full name of the Campaign. Winners lists are also available upon written request to legal@redeema.io.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Redeema, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Technical Failures: Failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed transmissions; technical failures of the OCR system, AWS infrastructure, or any third-party service; or any errors or omissions in connection with the Platform.
- Prize Disputes: Disputes between a Participant and a Sponsor regarding prize quality, delivery, condition, or tax implications.
- Eligibility Decisions: Decisions made by the Sponsor regarding participant eligibility or winner disqualification, provided those decisions are made in accordance with the Campaign's Particular Rules and these Master Rules.
- Entry Processing: Lost, late, misdirected, or undeliverable entries, notifications, or prize claim communications.
9. Disputes & Arbitration
- Governing Law: These Master Official Rules are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
- Binding Arbitration: All disputes arising from these Rules or any Campaign shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in San Juan, Puerto Rico, administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The arbitrator's decision is final and binding. Each party waives the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in class action proceedings.
- Individual Claims Only: All claims must be brought on an individual basis. Class actions, consolidated proceedings, and representative actions are expressly prohibited.
10. Sponsor Obligations & Compliance
As the platform provider, Redeema requires all Sponsors to adhere to the following:
- ARV Disclosure: Sponsors must disclose the Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each prize at the time of Campaign configuration. ARV must be accurate and reflect the fair market value at the time of launch. Campaigns with undisclosed or inaccurate ARVs may be suspended pending correction.
- High-Value Promotions ($5,000+): If a Sponsor launches a Promotion where the total ARV of all prizes exceeds $5,000 and wishes to include residents of New York or Florida, the Sponsor is solely responsible for filing all required state registrations and obtaining necessary surety bonds at least seven (7) days prior to the Campaign start date, and providing Redeema with written proof upon request.
- Automatic State Exclusion: In the absence of confirmed state registration and surety bonding for high-value prizes, Redeema will automatically exclude residents of New York and Florida from the Promotion. This exclusion is enforced at the platform level and cannot be overridden by the Sponsor.
- Prize Fulfillment: The Sponsor is exclusively liable for the procurement, legal registration (where applicable), procurement, and delivery of all prizes. Sponsors are encouraged to upload a signed Winner Affidavit and proof of prize delivery to the Redeema Admin Panel. For prizes exceeding $100 in value, this documentation is required within 30 days of prize delivery.
- Tax Reporting: For any prize valued at $600 or more, the Sponsor is responsible for collecting IRS Form W-9 from the winner and issuing Form 1099-MISC as required by the IRS. Redeema does not collect or store Social Security Numbers or Tax Identification Numbers on behalf of Sponsors.
- Campaign Immutability: Once a Campaign is published and entries are purchased, the following cannot be changed: prize descriptions, prize ARV, drawing date, Campaign end date, and beneficiary organization. The Official Rules act as a binding contract between the Sponsor and Participants from the moment the first entry is received.
- Social Media Promotion: If a Sponsor promotes a Campaign via social media, radio, television, or other channels, the Sponsor must include required legal language (e.g., "No purchase necessary. See official rules at redeema.io/sweepstakes-rules") and comply with each platform's specific promotion guidelines.
